80% Of Americans Don't Trust The Government

U.S. President Barack Obama

According to a PEW research poll, 80% of Americans do not trust the government. With the rampant abuse of public goodwill that occurred under the Bush administration, only to be followed by a year of disappointing revelations and actions by the Obama administration, Americans have good reason not to trust the government.

Let's not forget the lies of the Clinton administration, regarding Bill Clinton's extracurricular sexual activities and then First Lady Hillary Clinton's duplicitous dealings in the Whitewater scandal.

Most egregiously, the long suffering American people have been lied to about a war that wreaked havoc in the Middle East and destroyed America's name all over the world.

The nation's citizens have also been subjected to lies about renditioning, warrantless spying on American citizens by the FBI and NSA in the areas of telephones, mobile phones, computers, emails, GPS, bank accounts, credit reports and library cards. Deficit and budgetary spending has also been corrupted and camouflaged to hide the truth.

It's been one lie after another for the past twenty years, giving the American people and the world, no reason to trust the U.S. government. What is most alarming is the government's abuse of the U.S. Constitution, court system and federal law, in attempting to get away with blatantly illegal and unethical conduct. This misconduct hit a jarring crescendo under the Bush administration.

Some government officials have smirked and laughed at the gross lack of transparency and culpability in office, regarding illegal conduct they have been able to get away with, that has been witnessed by the American people and the world, clearly not grasping it has deteriorated America to terrible degrees.

It's the equivalent of burning one's house down, not realizing people are watching the act of self-sabotage, in a crooked attempt to become rich and powerful, via illegally obtained funds one is banking on.

Poll: 4 out of 5 Americans don't trust Washington

9 hours ago - WASHINGTON — America's "Great Compromiser" Henry Clay called government "the great trust," but most Americans today have little faith in Washington's ability to deal with the nation's problems.

Public confidence in government is at one of the lowest points in a half century, according to a survey from the Pew Research Center. Nearly 8 in 10 Americans say they don't trust the federal government and have little faith it can solve America's ills, the survey found.

The survey illustrates the ominous situation President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party face as they struggle to maintain their comfortable congressional majorities in this fall's elections. Midterm prospects are typically tough for the party in power. Add a toxic environment like this and lots of incumbent Democrats could be out of work.

Obama Angers The Gays With DADT U-Turn

U.S. President Obama: what I said was...

U.S. President Barack Obama has angered homosexuals in America, by promising to repeal the U.S. Military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" which bars gays from openly serving in the forces.

Engaging in what has become habit with President Obama, he says one thing to be popular, then has another segment of his government do the dirty work for him. This time, it is again the Department of Justice (DOJ), who have stated they will not repeal "Don't Ask Don't Tell."

Previously, Obama released a memo proclaiming his government is one of transparency and on this accord, Freedom of Information Act documents must be released to the public.

Then in the next breath, the Department of Justice, headed by Obama's questionable, bumbling pick, Eric Holder, continues to vigorously fight the nation's citizens and organizations like a junkyard dog, who request documents under the Freedom of Information Act. Not to mention, haughtily strolling into court on other cases and obstinately refusing to answer questions, deeming the DOJ is above the law.

This dear friends, is an old trick crooked politicians use, to garner votes and public sympathy, by appearing to be a damsel in distress at the hands of their cabinet, while secretly sending their lackeys out to quietly do their dirty work, which reflects their true agenda.

White House Suggests Justice Department Brief Upholding 'Don’t Ask,Don’t Tell' Was 'Odd'

April 06, 2010 9:36 PM - White House press secretary Robert Gibbs Tuesday suggested a Justice Department brief upholding the “don’t ask, don’t tell” ban on gays and lesbians serving openly in the military was “odd,” given that it used 17-year-old language from Gen. Colin Powell (ret.) that the former Joint Chiefs Chairman says he no longer believes.

http://blogs.abcnews.com

On June 29, 2009, during his speech in front of an audience attending the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Pride Month Reception, held at the White House, President Obama said:

"As I said before--I'll say it again--I believe 'don't ask, don't tell' doesn't contribute to our national security. In fact, I believe preventing patriotic Americans from serving their country weakens our national security."

In the lawsuit, Justice Department attorneys admitted that the President made this statement. So, using President Obama's exact words, Log Cabin's lawyers then asked the government to admit that what the President said about DADT was true. Justice Department lawyers objected, and refused to answer -- Log Cabin filed and won a motion to compel the government to answer the questions, the government appealed, and the court rejected the appeal.

Consequently, on Monday, April 12, 2010, the government finally had to answer the questions and, when the Justice Department lawyers answered, they told the court that the President of the United States, Barack Obama, was wrong about DADT.

Specifically, when asked to admit that Don't Ask, Don't Tell "does not contribute to our national security", the government's response was "Deny." Meaning, DOJ disagrees with the President -- DOJ thinks the gay ban does contribute to our national security. So they're not only contradicting the President, they're not only saying that the President is wrong, they're actually putting out an anti-gay argument that hurts our efforts to repeal DADT because it defends the underlying basis for the law.

When asked to admit that Don't Ask, Don't Tell "weakens our national security", the government's response was again "Deny". And, when asked to admit that discharging service members pursuant to Don't Ask, Don't Tell "weakens our national security," the government's response was "Deny".

The government's responses attempt to explain why these denials differ from what the President had said but they candidly admit that the government's position in this case differs from the President's view of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

British Election Debate

The first televised debate in the British national elections aired this week on television and it was quite engaging. Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, Conservative, David Cameron and Liberal Democrat, Nick Clegg squared off on a number of national topics concerning Britons.

It was a healthy, informative debate that shed light on a number of items the public had not received sufficient answers to in the past. According to polls, incumbent Gordon Brown placed last at the debate.

U.S. President Barack Obama (center)

U.S. President Barack Obama has placed restrictions on America's nuclear role in the world, outlining terms when such action is permissible. Among them are, in the event of an attack from another nation. President Obama plans to rely more on military might that nuclear capability.

U.S. Republicans on the other end of the political spectrum are not keen on Obama's latest announcement, claiming an arms reduction poses a threat to national security.

Obama Angers Republicans With Appointment Threat

U.S. President Barack Obama

U.S. President Barack Obama reportedly seeks to appoint individuals to 15 new government posts, during the upcoming two week Congressional recess, which has angered Republican senators. The name of the measure is a "recess appointment." Boy, Obama's on a roll with angering the Republicans, isn't he.

Meanwhile, former Republican Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, has been firing up Tea Party supporters, with the goal of voting out rival Democrats this year and in 2012.

Obama Announces 15 Recess Appointments, Scolds GOP

(AP) WASHINGTON (AP) - Fed up with waiting, President Barack Obama announced Saturday he would bypass a vacationing Senate and name 15 people to key administration jobs, wielding for the first time the blunt political tool known as the recess appointment.

The move immediately deepened the divide between the Democratic president and Republicans in the Senate following a long, bruising fight over health care. Obama revealed his decision by blistering Republicans, accusing them of holding up nominees for months solely to try to score a political advantage on him...

Obama And Democrats Subjected To Death Threats And Vandalism Over Health Care Bill

"Steny Hoyer: Members are at risk"

U.S. President Barack Obama and his political party, the Democrats have been on the receiving end of death threats, threats of violence and vandalism today, in the wake of his controversial health care bill being signed into law.

Video: Health Care Battle Continues CBS

It is also being reported, "The FBI is reportedly investigating a severed gas line at the home of Rep. Tom Perriello's brother after tea partiers posted the brother's address online, believing it to be Rep. Perriello's." It's safe to say things have gotten out of control. However, once again, violence is not the answer.

On the other side of the aisles, the Republican party are working under the motto "Repeal and Replace." However, some Republicans insist the bill is so bad, they are unable to fix it. Hence states suing the government, branding the bill "unconstitutional." To make matters worse, consumer confidence on the matter is quite low, as most Americans dislike the bill.

John Edwards Mistress Mad At GQ Over Photos

Rielle Hunter in GQ Magazine

Rielle Hunter, the mistress of former U.S. Presidential candidate, John Edwards, slammed GQ magazine for making her look like a trollop, during a piece they did on her for their publication.

Rielle Hunter and John Edwards' daughter

Hunter is being slammed in return, by political pundits, entertainment journalists and bloggers, who are in agreement she is the source of said embarrassment, for posing without pants and issuing come hither looks for the cameras.

Rielle Hunter and John Edwards

The interview was shameful, as it defended adultery, when she should be seeking the Lord's forgiveness for it. Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of her adulterer, whom she inappropriately and all too familiarly refers to as "Johnny" is the real victim.

Edwards has purchased his mistress a $1 million dollar home, paid her lavishly out of campaign funds for doing web work barely worth much, while his wife struggles with cancer and a broken heart, due to this betrayal of their vows. Hunter owes Mrs. Edwards an apology and should desist throwing their affair in her face, via dredging it up in interviews.

GQ Blasts Rielle Hunter: "She Knew What She Was Doing" at the Shoot

Tuesday – March 16, 2010 – 11:07am - GQ is blasting Rielle Hunter, who is said to be repulsed by the racy shots of her in the magazine's April issue.

Hunter -- a 45-year-old videographer who had a fling with John Edwards and gave birth to his 2-year-old daughter Frances Quinn -- told Barbara Walters that she thought photographer Mark Seliger would've used some of the "beautiful headshots" he took of her.

Instead, they used shots of her wearing no pants as she lounged next to stuffed animals. But GQ isn't buying it...

"Rielle is a smart woman," DePaulo added. "She knows what she wore and what she was doing in the photo shoot."

Obama Reboots Health Care Bill

Republicans Reboot Contempt For It

U.S. President Barack Obama continues to pitch his health care program, but this week a modified version has hit the press. It calls for $900,000,000,000 in spending that will allegedly pay for itself in 10 years.

President Barack Obama

The public option has been removed, which was a major point of contention for many. The bill still allows for massive fines for those that do not buy health insurance. Obama’s rivals, the Republican Party, are still set against the bill’s passage and have vowed to fight him on this measure.

Dick Cheney And Bob Dole Hospitalized

Tricky Dick Cheney

Two of Washington's old guard, former Vice President, Dick Cheney and former Senator, Bob Dole, have been hospitalized (in addition to Bill Clinton last week). Yesterday, Cheney was hospitalized with chest pains, much like Rush Limbaugh a few weeks ago.

The chest pains are most likely stress related, due to fighting President Obama, whose heart is years younger (though he could quit the smoking, as it promotes cancer via first, second and third hand smoke).

These medical events are in addition to the passing of Senators, Ted Kennedy and John Murtha. The Washington landscape is certainly changing.

Feb. 23, 2010 - Former Vice President Dick Cheney's office says he had a "mild heart attack" this week -- his fifth -- but is in stable condition and will be released from the hospital in a couple of days...

Billboard: Impeach Obama

Obama: hold on now!

A Wisconsin company has paid thousands of dollars to erect a billboard, calling for the impeachment of U.S. President, Barack Obama. The billboard complains of Obama's alleged failure to help small businesses in America.

The U.S. business sector is in a bad way, leaving many disgruntled at financial freefall initiated by the Bush Administration, through careless, wanton choices. Team Obama has been trying to fix the nation's financial woes, but thus far has been unable to, due to massive overspending and inadequate taxation.

Billboard on U.S. Highway 41 in Oshkosh calls for impeachment of President Barack Obama

February 15, 2010 - A company represented by a Menasha lawyer has rented a billboard calling for President Barack Obama's impeachment.

The billboard on U.S. Highway 41, between the U.S. Highway 45 and Jackson Street interchanges, reads “Impeach Obama.” The tagline adds: “America's small businesses are failing; help us spread the message.”

It was paid for by an unnamed company represented by Tom Wroblewski. In a memo to the media Monday, Wroblewski said the company’s sentiment is that Washington politics are bad for small businesses. He says despite the billboard's language, he's not suggesting Obama committed an impeachable offense...

The billboard will remain up for at least six months, at a cost of $1,000 per month.

A majority of members of the House of Representatives is required to impeach a president. If such a majority is obtained, the Senate then carries out a tribunal based on the charges. A move to convict the president and remove him or her from office would require the support of more than two-thirds of the Senate.

Obama Talks About Being A One Term President

Hollywood President Or Political President

U.S. President Barack Obama

Recently, President Barack Obama stated he would rather be a good one term president, rather than a bad two term president. Obama's poll numbers have hit record lows, government spending has reached an all-time high and the U.S. economy is in the worst condition it has ever been in, as the incumbent has been unable to correct the damage the former president created, making decisions that have worsened the nation's financial state.

If this pattern continues, Obama will not leave office in good standing. His legacy will be, he spent more taxpayer money than any other president in history, national debt reached an all time high during his presidency and his poll numbers hit record lows months after assuming office. Who would really want such a legacy. As the first black President of America, Obama owes African-Americans and blacks worldwide more than that.

However, Obama is governing Hollywood style, with big budgets, like on a movie set and controversial company...and therein lies the problem. Last week, historian, Webster Tarpley, stated Obama is inviting the Dalai Lama to Washington, as he is a favorite of Hollywood, who donated millions to the President's election campaign and often visit the White House as well.

(Webster Tarpley) Video: US-China relations could get worse - RT

Inviting the Dalai Lama to the White House was not in America's best interest, as the largest holder of national debt, China, took it as spitting in their faces, due to the massive ongoing dispute they have with the sectarian leader they deem a rebel trying to splinter their nation.

China is now threatening to sell all U.S. bonds it purchased. The Judiciary Report is not stating be uncivil to the Dalai Lama, but the nation is steeped in financial turbulence, therefore, was this really the best time to engage in such a maneuver, infuriating the largest holder of national debt.

Then, there is the big budget Hollywood style spending coming out of Washington, like they're on a movie set. Anyone championing it, simply does not understand economics. Many a movie studio and film production company have gone belly up spending like that anyway - why the government thinks it will fare any better following said example is anyone's guess.

No nation in financial distress can truly spend its way out of debt. You are a government. You can't spend money to make money, as though you are a corporation in the black. It is also worth noting, some of what the government is spending taxpayer money on is quite risky, not guaranteeing any proper, lasting return. This is the time to raise taxes on the rich and cut government spending.

Any good head of state should hope to leave office with the legacy of helping the poor, reducing national debt, boosting the economy, rebuilding political bridges that were burned both nationally and internationally, promoting peace and consistently using forthrightness, candor and impartiality in governing decision.

Following the Hollywood way is not the way to achieve a good legacy. If following Hollywood lands Obama in Chicago in 2012, rather than Washington, he is going to be angry, embittered and full of regrets. They are not worth your presidency or legacy.

As for Hollywood, they need to get their backsides back on their sets and keep their noses out of people's politics. You are actors and singers paid to perform lines someone else writes, as most of you aren't even bright enough to do that (hence all the stealing of copyrights).

In my experience, Hollywood stars are often crazy and dimwitted - they play politicians, doctors and lawyers on TV, then go out into the real world thinking they are these things and act on it to disastrous results, as they have no formal training or the mental capacity for it.

Obama Tells Diane Sawyer That Health Care Bill Had Political Cost

Jan. 25, 2010 - President Obama, buffeted by criticism of his massive health care reform bill and election setbacks, said today he remained determined to tackle health care and other big problems despite the political dangers to his presidency.

The president tells Diane Sawyer about his first term and poll numbers. "I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president," he told ABC's "World News" anchor Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview today.

Washington And Global Warming

U.S. President Barack Obama

Washington, D.C. has been snowed in by an unprecedented storm, which has deposited over 2 feet of snow on America's capital. The intense snow shut down the government and a number of establishments, such as Dulles Airport. There is also a blizzard warning in effect from North Carolina to New York.

In light of this freezing weather occurrence, which contradicts claims of deadly global warming, will Washington and the Obama Administration continue to spend record sums of money, out of taxpayer funds, to combat what they've perceived as "Climate change."

Washington, DC in America

President Barack Obama has invested billions in combating "Global Warming" yet the evidence is all around us that the nation has been colder than ever this winter, with even the perennially warm Miami, hitting record lows in January.

It's warm again in Miami (for now) so we can smirk at D.C. How's that snow working out for you. For once, politicians are shoveling snow, instead of that other stuff they usually do (it rhymes with sewer...ok, for the slow people, it's manure). Even the FBI is having trouble updating their website in Washington, with all that snow coming out of their butts. Enjoy!

Storm pounds snowbound Mid-Atlantic, East Coast

WASHINGTON – A blizzard howled up the East Coast on Wednesday, making roads from Baltimore to New York City so treacherous that even plow drivers pulled over and bringing more misery to a Mid-Atlantic region having the snowiest winter on record.

In Pennsylvania, the governor closed large stretches of major highways because the second major storm in less than a week was making travel too risky. Crashes closed nine miles of Interstate 80 and sent 17 people to the hospital, none with serious injuries.

In Washington, snow fell so hard that people on the National Mall could not see the Capitol. Many in the region were still without power from the historic storm over the weekend, and even more were expected to lose it during this one.

"The snow has just been relentless," said Washington Fire Chief Dennis L. Rubin, a D.C. native who said the back-to-back storms are like nothing he has ever experienced. "It doesn't seem like we're getting much of a break."...
