Michael Douglas' Son Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison

Cameron Douglas and Michael Douglas

Cameron Douglas, the son of Hollywood actor, Michael Douglas, has been sentenced to 5-years in prison on drug dealing charges. Many believe the judge gave him below the mandatory 10-years, due to his dad's celebrity.

Hopefully, Douglas junior will use this opportunity to detox and regain control of his life. His family has battled drug issues for years, but when he was cut off from his dad's money, out of concerns it was fueling his drug habit, he became a dealer.

Michael Douglas' son gets 5-year prison sentence

By TOM HAYS (AP) – 1 hour ago - NEW YORK — A judge sentenced Michael Douglas' son to five years in prison Tuesday for dealing methamphetamine from a trendy Manhattan hotel, calling it his "last chance to make it."

U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman announced the sentence after hearing 31-year-old Cameron Douglas ask for mercy as his Academy Award-winning father and mother, Diandra, listened behind him in a packed courtroom...

Did Michael Douglas' Son Get Celeb Treatment With Reduced Sentence?

Today 1:33 PM PDT - Sure, having a movie star father may have contributed to getting Cameron Douglas into this legal mess. But it also seems to have helped get him out of it.

Michael Douglas' son was sentenced to five years in prison today, just half of what is otherwise (like, for offenders without famous relatives) a minimum—yes, minimum—10-year term.

Hacker Sentenced To 20-Years In Prison

Albert Gonzalez

A hacker that breached the computer security of a number of American stores, to steal millions of dollars from merchants, has been correctly sentenced to 20-years in prison for his crimes.

Miami hacker, Albert Gonzalez, was on the receiving end of a U.S. District Judge's wrath, who threw the book at him, for hacking into the computer systems of the stores Barnes And Noble, Office Max, Dave and Buster's, Hannaford Supermarkets and 7-Eleven.

Judge Douglas P. Woodstock, stated the hacker damaged the U.S. economy via his actions and that he did. The U.S. economy is already in freefall. It doesn't need electronic thieves expanding the damage as well.

It was a crime of greed, as he stole millions in credit card numbers from retailers, even going so far as to bury $1 million dollars in pilfered money in his parents backyard, which federal agents located and dug up.

That kind of security breach is inexcusable, dangerous and unnecessary. He should have sought gainful employment like everyone else, utilizing his computer abilities, rather than resorting to crime with the intention of becoming wealthy at other people's expense.

For everyone who has been the victim of identity theft, due to a lazy, shiftless hacker sitting at home in his underwear, cruising the internet for ill-gotten gains, the sentence is just, as the economic damage and consumer inconvenience it creates is significant. It is not a victimless crime.

Some identity thieves love to excuse their conduct by stating banks are rich and they can afford the losses. Still, it's not your money for you to decide what it should be spent on.

There is also another angle to the crime. Victims of identity theft spend many distressed hours trying to straighten out their credit reports and bank accounts after being targeted by hackers. It's time for such hackers to spend substantial time in prison thinking about what they did.

I recently had to spend time helping a friend straighten out her credit report and bank account after she was targeted by identity thieves.

The money had been illegally removed from her account via identity theft and as a result, while she was away for two weeks, tending to funeral arrangements for her dad, her mortgage, credit card and utility bills bounced.

When she went to the bank and discovered what happened, she broke down and started crying, as it could not have come at a worst time.

I had to call different credit bureaus for her to report what happened, enabling them to flag her account/social security number as a victim of identity theft, in the event the thieves decided to do further damage.

Then we had to go to the bank for a long time, who in turn had to thoroughly go through her account, print out all the details/activity and write, then fax letters to her mortgage, utility and credit card companies, advising them of what transpired and not to hold it against her, as the bank was issuing a temporary monetary credit to cover the damages, until they could go after the identity thieves through the authorities, to get the stolen money bank.

She was grieving for her dad and already depressed, then she had to sit in a bank for hours to face this ordeal, because some identity thief won't get a real job. Lock them up, is the Judiciary Report's assessment.

Lil Wayne's Time In Prison

Lil Wayne

Here it is, rapper Lil Wayne is in prison on gun charges, trying to keep his little butt cheeks together to prevent them from getting violated and the Judiciary Report is teasing him about his incarceration. Therefore, the site would like to offer constructive advice for the rapper's time in prison.

1. Reevaluate the type of music you make. A lot of kids listen to your music and much of it is filled with lyrics about drug taking, sexual promiscuity and violence. You should make a more positive mark on the world. Take this time to reflect on the example you have set and try to do better in the sight of God.

2. You often rap about your addiction to various drugs, when it has clearly robbed you of many moments in your life you do not remember, as you were stoned. Now that you are away from the Hollywood lifestyle for a period of time, try to kick the habit and come out of prison a new man. Do not return to drug, lest you overdose like so many stars that have gone before you.

Is Lil Wanye's Modesty Safe In Prison

Lil Wayne

Reports originally indicated the attorney for, Lil Wayne, requested the pint-sized rapper be placed in protective custody in the Riker's Island prison, where he currently bends sits on gun charges he was convicted of this month. However, some reports now claim he is in the general population, which is unwise.

Therefore, is Lil Wanye's modesty safe in prison. I wonder how many dudes are singing love songs to Lil Wayne in prison when the lights go down, scaring him through his cell. Is he safe in the shower? What will happen to him if he does accidentally drop the soap? Will he be cornered in the prison yard? Will his reputed connection to the Bloods street gang protect him or are they outnumbered?

And the moral of the story is, do not carry illegal guns. Leave the security up to the professional, licensed bodyguards. It is not worth your freedom...or modesty.

Man Mimics "The Taking Of Pelham 123" And Is Arrested

Anthony Digait was arrested in New York for extorting an unnamed insurance company. His conduct was dubious and reminiscent of the film "The Talking Of Pelham 123" starring John Travolta, as it laid out a ransom demand, down to exact dollars and cents, with penalty increases in odd increments, if stipulated terms were not met.

The insurance unit had done him no harm, but he threatened the company with spam and an online smear campaign if they did not pay up. Well, they didn't. They called the police and he was arrested and is now facing prison. Never follow a Hollywood film, people. Those people are psychos.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Charges California Man with Cyber-Extortion of New York-Based Insurance Company

For Immediate Release
March 8, 2010 United States Attorney's Office
Southern District of New York
Contact: (212) 637-2600

PREET BHARARA, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and GEORGE VENIZELOS, the Acting Assistant Director-in-Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's New York Field Division ("FBI"), announced that ANTHONY DIGATI was arrested on March 6, 2010, on charges of attempting to extort approximately $200,000 from a New York-based life insurance company by threatening to make false public statements and transmit computer spam in an effort to damage the reputation of the company and cost it millions of dollars in revenue.

According to a criminal complaint unsealed on March 8, 2010, in Manhattan federal court:

On February 22, 2010, more than a dozen employees, executives, and one board member of the life insurance company (the "Company") received an e-mail signed "Anthony Digati." The e-mail reads, in part, "I HIGHLY suggest you visit this website and contact me afterwards." The e-mail provides a website address that leads a viewer to a website created by DIGATI (the "Website").

The website includes, among other things, the following text:

These things, unless you honor the below claim, WILL HAPPEN on March 8, 2010.

As you have denied my claim I can only respond in this way. You no longer have a choice in the matter, unless of course you want me to continue with this outlined plan. I have nothing to lose, you have everything to lose.

My demand is now for $198,303.88. This amount is NOT negotiable, you had your chance to make me an offer, now I call the shots.

I have 6 MILLION e-mails going out to couples with children age 25-40, this e-mail campaign is ordered and paid for. 2 million go out on the 8th and every two days 2 million more for three weeks rotating the list. Of course it is spam, I hired a spam service, I could care less, The damge [sic] will be done.

I am a huge social networker, and I am highly experienced. 200,000 people will be directly contacted by me through social networks, slamming your integrity and directing them to this website within days.

I think you get the idea, I am going to drag your company name and reputation, through the muddiest waters imaginable. This will cost you millions in lost revenues, trust and credibility not to mention the advertising you will be buying to counter mine. Sad thing is it’s almost free for me!

The process is in motion and will be released on March 8th, 2010. If you delay and the site goes live, The price will then be $3,000,000.00.

DIGATI, 52, was arrested this morning at his home in Chino, California. He is charged with one count of extortion through interstate communications. If convicted on this charge, DIGATI faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000 or twice the gross pecuniary loss or gain derived from the offense.

DIGATI is expected to be presented today before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Riverside, California.

U.S. Attorney PREET BHARARA stated: "In this computer age, cyber-extortion has become an emerging tool for criminals to hold businesses at virtual gunpoint, threatening them with widespread spamming and other Internet-based attacks. With the assistance of the FBI, our office will work to safeguard the Internet and prosecute computer-savvy criminals who seek to harm the well-being of businesses and our economy."

FBI Acting Assistant Director-in-Charge VENIZELOS stated: "The digital age revolutionized business, among other ways, by drastically reducing the cost of direct marketing. But it has also facilitated the kind of cyber extortion allegedly effected by Digati. One blackmailer can, with mere keystrokes, spread damaging lies to millions. The threat is magnified by the sheer numbers of potential recipients. The most effective deterrent to cyber extortion is vigorous enforcement by the FBI."

Mr. BHARARA praised the New York FBI Office and the Riverside Resident Agency of the Los Angeles FBI Office.

This case is being prosecuted by the Office's Complex Frauds Unit. Assistant United States Attorney AMANDA KRAMER is in charge of this prosecution.

The charge in the criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Lil Wayne Sentenced To 1-Year In Prison

"Video: Lil Wayne Sentenced to 1 Year"

Rapper Lil' Wayne has been sentenced to one year in prison on gun possession charges. The sentence was handed down in a New York courtroom, with many speculating he is headed to the notorious Riker's Island prison.

Lil' Wayne: my poor booty!

Lil Wayne's lawyer requested he be placed in protective custody, due to his high profile and the judge agreed. The Judiciary Report is not for special treatment of celebrities, but as stated on the site last week, in light of the fact Wayne is famous and allegedly affiliated with a dangerous street gang whose rivals are waiting on him, it is best that he be kept out of the general population in prison. Therefore, the Judiciary Report agrees with the judge's decision.

Not to mention, Wayne isn't exactly ripped like the Incredible Hulk/Madonna. How's he going to defend himself in the general population.

Lastly, he should look at this time of incarceration as a chance to detox from the multiple illegal narcotics he takes that could cause him to overdose one day.

For Lil Wayne, 3rd Time Is Not the Charm

March 8, 2010, 4:31 pm - As the rapper Lil Wayne made his final public appearance as a free man for at least the next eight months...

Court officers pushed people to the side to clear a path...When all was settled, Justice Solomon asked Lil Wayne if he had anything to say. The rapper simply shook his head no.

“That’s the sentence I’m imposing, one year,” Justice Solomon said...With good behavior, Lil Wayne, who will serve his sentence on Rikers Island, could be out in eight months.

Lil Wayne Sentencing Postponed Due To Court Fire

Lil Wayne

The sentencing of rapper, Lil Wayne, has been postponed, as a fire broke out in the New York courthouse that was set to deliver the punishment. It was probably the friction from his gold chains rubbing together or the sun reflecting off his diamond teeth that caused the blaze.

Either way, the alleged gang member is most likely happy at the delay, as he is to face sentencing on gun charges. The Judiciary Report is no fan of his music, but considering the issues surrounding him, one would hope they place him in an area away from the general population.

8 Hurt in Fire in Criminal Court Building

Updated, 3:05 p.m. | A two-alarm fire broke out in the basement of the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse around 10:30 Tuesday morning. At least eight people sustained minor injuries, the Fire Department said: five firefighters, two civilians and one prisoner.

The building, at 100 Centre Street, was evacuated because of heavy smoke in the basement and light smoke throughout the building; the fire was put out within 45 minutes, but the building was closed for the day.
