Hollywood Lobbies For Industry Futures

Hollywood

In the biggest rip-off yet, Hollywood is lobbing the US Congress for industry futures to be traded on the stock market. Hollywood, a town built on organized crime seed money, thievery and criminal copyright infringement, seeks to offer the public the dubious opportunity to bet on the future performance of Hollywood films that most so-called industry executives can't even predict.

Considering movie audience attendance and music sales have steadily plummeted, prompting the industry to increase prices to show some kind of profit, while reaching less people with their products, banking on Hollywood is like wagering on the Titanic (and no, I'm not talking about the movie).

The fact of the matter is most Hollywood films and albums fail, ending up in the red. Studios and labels home for a few releases to do well, to save them from dozens of flops and financial failures. It is not like the food or airline industry in America, steadily packing in customers based on services people need.

Box-office futures are dealt a blow

April 22, 2010 - A Senate panel votes to ban the proposed futures exchanges, which are opposed by studios. Don't bet on betting on the box office.

A Senate committee dealt a big blow to the plans of two trading firms looking to create a box-office futures exchange that would allow the movie industry as well as investors to wager on movie ticket sales...

President Barack Obama

U.S. President Barack Obama is the subject of a congressional bill to block requests for a true copy of his birth certificate, as the photocopy that has been provided and scanned to his website, has been labeled a fake, carrying Photoshop digital markings. To be President of the United States, one must be born in America and many contend Obama was born in Kenya (Africa).

Anti-Obama 'birthers' face roadblock in Hawaii

Apr 21, 2010 - Some folks in Hawaii are tired of dealing with anti-Obama "birthers." The Hawaii Legislature is close to passing a law that would allow the state to ignore repeated requests for President Obama's birth certificate.

Obama Being Blamed For U.S. Economic Woes

U.S. President Barack Obama's popularity has taken a massive dive, as he is catching up with former President, George W. Bush, in the blame department, regarding the ongoing financial crisis rocking America.

Where Bush precipitated the problem with the terrible management of the nation's finances and massive spending, Obama has exacerbated it with unruly, socialist spending, not suited to the U.S. economy.

Some good news in the midst of troubling financial headlines: GM repaid $8 billion of the bailout money it was given, 5 years in advance. Well done to GM.

Bush still gets blame for economy, but Obama catching up

April 21, 2010, 6:07 PM EDT - Former President George W. Bush still gets most of the blame for the nation’s current economic ills, but the government’s current chief executive is catching up, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday.

President Barack Obama takes at least a moderate amount of blame among half those surveyed by Gallup late last month, up from 32% when Gallup last asked the question in July. The survey of 1,033 adults shows that 26% think Obama should take a “great deal” of the blame while another 24% believe the current president shoulders a “moderate amount.” Fifty percent say Obama gets little or no blame...

It's amazing how people make wantonly bad decisions, believing themselves above the law and culpability, when violating the privacy and dignity of others they spy on. Judges have been making examples of hackers and software pirates, abusing technology for their own ends.

David Cameron: Nick Clegg = Gordon Brown

David Cameron and wife Samantha

British Conservative Party head, David Cameron, fresh off a successful televised debate, stated voting for challenger, Liberal Democrat, Nick Clegg, who led the polls for the national discussion last week, is the equivalent of voting for incumbent, Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.

Nick Clegg and wife Miriam

Cameron illustrated both Brown and Clegg, share the same political beliefs and a victory for the latter would mean more years of the Labour Party, under the Liberal Democrat umbrella. The Conservatives currently lead in fundraising, while Clegg is steeped in a financial scandal he denies any involvement in.

Study Claims People With Vitiligo Have Skin Cancer Protection

Michael Jackson

A study claims people with the skin whitening disorder Vitiligo, "May have skin cancer protection." This is odd, considering the most famous confirmed Vitiligo sufferer, the late pop star, Michael Jackson, was photographed leaving his dermatologist's office, with a medical bag attached to his person, bearing the label "skin cancer."

However, it should be stated, any study group containing Jackson (medical history), would also have to take into account, the cancer promoting skin bleaching creams he frequently used (Apparently, based on medical reports, on a daily basis in large quantities).

It should also be noted, many Vitiligo sufferers have remnant pigment and melanin.

Muslim Group Threatens To Shank South Park

South Park

An Islamic group, called RevolutionMuslim.com, threatened the makers of the television cartoon, South Park, with Jihad, over a depiction of Muhammad in last week's episode of the show. "South Park" is produced by Matt Parker and Trey Stone, who are Jewish.

The group stated on its website that has now been yanked, "We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them."

Matt Parker and Trey Stone

Uh, that was a threat. Theo Van Gogh was stabbed and shot to death on the streets of Amsterdam, over an unflattering portrayal of Muhammad in a film. In short, Parker and Stone need to beef up security.

Stone and Parker are entitled to Free Speech under the U.S. Constitution. Sadly, it will not protect them from those that believe murder is their right if one offends their religion.

Muslim group warns 'South Park' creators of death
